Update: Due to the recent unfortunate events that have unfolded in Tibet and while recognizing the ongoing crisis in Tibet, we would like to inform you that there has been a slight change in the Gala Dinner Program. Instead of cultural programs, we would be organizing slide shows on Tibet and a talk by our Honourable Representative ex-Kalon Tashi Wangdi. We will try to make the evening as engaging and memorable as possible. As much as we would like to cancel the event, we have no choice but to continue to hold the Gala Dinner as the event has been planned for several months now and invitations have been sent to high level dignitaries. In addition, this is one of our biggest fundraising opportunities as well.

In the year 2004, it is on this auspicious day that His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave the name "Gangjong Choedenling" to the new Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre. This day has been marked as a day to showcase the Unique Tibetan Culture and to build relationships with other leaders in the community including all three levels of the Canadian Government.
